Performance Tuning

• TTL_PAPERS is an easy design, not a fast one
  • Modularly scalable TTL_PAPERS can connect from 4 to thousands of processors
  • Some PAPERS versions already have higher performance
  • There are smarter, faster, PAPERS units and hardware interfaces in the near future
• Use conventional network for large block sends, avoiding limitation of TTL_PAPERS bandwidth
• TTL_PAPERS can cheaply sample global state; algorithms should take advantage of this
