Data Types

• A datum from each processor, not blocks from memory
• Data types supported:
  • 64 and 32 bit floating point
  • 64, 32, 16, and 8 bit signed integer
  • 64, 32, 16, 8, and 1 bit unsigned integer
  • The k least significant bits of a 64, 32, 16, and 8 bit unsigned integer
• Data format conversions for heterogeneous clusters occur invisibly when portable type definitions are used
