August 27, 2003 (Lexington, Ky.) --Three years after breaking a supercomputing cost threshold, UK electrical and computer engineering professor Hank Dietz has done it again! Dietz and doctoral student Tim Mattox have built a supercomputer using standard PC parts – for a cost of less than $100 per gigaflops.
