Well, the point of this course is to understand all of the hardware structures hidden inside modern processors. The text is some random Verilog code (the processor module from a previous project), representing how processor designs are expressed. The wafer represents the processor hardware. 480 being under that is meant to suggest that we'll be getting into the details of what's behind those implementation mechanisms: the fully-detailed computer architecture.
