Spring 2008 Calendar for Professor Hank Dietz

This page, http://aggregate.org/hankd/cal.html, is maintained as a good approximation to my schedule for the entire semester. Of course, it might not be entirely accurate, so be sure to check with me directly for any particularly critical times. Generally, email to hankd@engr.uky.edu is best for scheduling things like thesis defense timeslots.

Is Hank Available Now?

Rather than having a few scheduled office hours, I prefer to have an "open office" policy that makes me available for walk-in meetings/advising in my office most of the time. Aside from the schedules below, physically stopping by my office (469 F. Paul Anderson Tower), or calling me at 257 4701, you can get a good idea if I'm available by looking at the following images. The first image says whether my door is open, the second is my picture with a timestamp saying when I was last detected by a script running on my desktop computer. The third is the current view from a camera in my office.

Weekly Repeating Schedule

The following table summarizes the events in my schedule that normally repeat every week. Background color indicates the type of activity: light green for classes; light blue for meetings; pink for unavailable. Note that, aside from things like lunch and exceptional events (as listed in the next section), the blank times are generally "open office" times as described above. There are a few repeating things that are yet to be scheduled:

Irregular And One-Time Event Schedule

The following table gives my schedule of events that are essentially exceptions to the regular weekly schedule given above. Times when classes are not in session are indicated using a pink background; times when special school-related events such as final exams are held are marked with a light blue background; a light green background indicates classes are in session, but under special circumstances. Yellow indicates that Professor Dietz is unavailable for work or personal reasons.
